St. Paul's Memorial's

When someone you know passes on, one of the first things that comes to mind is how you can preserve their memory. 

We'd like to commit these lovely folks to memory by giving them a special place in our church though they've left us.

Catherine Sue Sedlock

Catherine Sue Sedlock, of Samaria, MI., passed September 07, 2020 surrounded by her family. Our lives were blessed with her unselfish love and kindness. 


Catherine found fulfillment and purpose being a foster mother for both Lucas & Monroe County, having had 197 foster kids throughout her life. She is and will always be in our hearts, and may we learn to let others in and extend her unselfish sacrifice to inspire us to not only love our family, but to extend love to those who need it most.


She was preceded in death by her daughters, Billie Jo Sedlock, and Rhonda Sue Sedlock, her parents, Betty and Gerald Smith, brother, Elliott Smith.


She leaves behind, her loving husband of 53 years, Ronald A. Sedlock; her daughter, Darlene (Douglas) McClure and their family; son, Ronald Jr. (Michelle) Sedlock and their family; sisters, Pat (Red) Coleman,   Karen (Russ) Wassil, Linda (Dan) Showalter, brothers, Gerry (Sue) Smith, Alvin (Sharon) Smith, and an abundance of family, friends, neighbors, and foster children whose lives she has touched.

 

Beryl Alice Kuehne Preketes

Beryl Alice Kuehne Preketes, age 97, of Bedford, Michigan, passed way peacefully and gained her wings on December 30, 2020. She was born on November 27, 1923, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late John H. and Alice (Bieber) Kuehne.

She had lived in Bedford since 1959, where she taught school for 25 years and had been retired for 35 years. Beryl was an excellent artist and many of her friends and neighbors have her artwork in their homes.

Beryl was a part of many organizations, a few of them being, the Delta Kappa Gamma Education Society, Bedford Artists Club, Toledo Artist Guild, and the Bedford Education Club. She was also an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Temperance, Michigan.

A devoted wife, loving mother, dedicated teacher, and talented artist, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Those left to forever cherish Beryl's memory are her children, Alice Preketes of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Paul (Sheri) Preketes of Fort Myers, Florida, and Martha (Steve) Preketes Linn of Harbor Beach, Michigan; six grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren; step-brother, Larry French; and son-in-law, Rick Davis.

In addition to her parents, Beryl was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Nicholas John Preketes; daughter, Ellen Preketes Davis; and a brother, John H. Kuehne, Jr.
